Natural United partners with the National Park service to source volunteers for tree plantings. They are a fun and engaging way to get the family together and do some good for the earth. Participants will also learn native plant ecology from park rangers and receive instructions. The event resulted in the planting of hundreds of trees and is part of a greater project in need of thousands of trees planted.
Description
Do you want to make a positive lasting impact on the environment in Cuyahoga Valley National Park? Join your fellow volunteers for Natural Ohio’s Day of Service and help plant native trees within the park!
By planting trees, you are restoring the natural habitat of your national park and benefitting both the environment and your community. You will use shovels to dig holes for native trees, hammer in stakes beside newly planted trees, and cover them with deer tubes for protection. This project helps to fill in the tree canopy which creates a less fragmented habitat for wildlife.
Volunteers who are 7-15 years of age must have parent or guardian supervision at the project site. Volunteers who are 16-18 years of age are only required to have a parent or guardian sign their Volunteer Agreement form.
Advanced registration is required for all individuals.
